Today, the man of the house was off work and we made a trip to the library. We were thrilled to find that on the shelf of free books was some children books to add to our home library. We were able to obtain lots of books about space and animals; favorites of our two little ones. We also checked out another stack of books, including St. George and the Dragon as we prepare for Michaelmas on September 29th. This will be our first year to celebrate Michaelmas as we honor Saint Michael the Archangel. We will also learn about St. George. According to legend, Saint George, England's patron saint, was the Archangel Michael's earthly representative. Saint Michael threw Lucifer out of heaven for his treachery while Saint George slew dragons on Earth.
We also checked out "Where the Wild Things Are" and anxiously wait the movie coming to theatres in October.. And since our library will be closed for the entire first week of October, we stocked up on many more books. And now if the weather would just coorporate and get cooler, we would snuggle down and enjoy some reading. And if it doesn't get cooler, we will snuggle down anyway with lit candles and lazy cats. But of course, this will be between soccer practices and games, speech therapy, homeschooling lessons, housework, working on homemade Christmas presents and church activites. Yes, we are busy, but I love being a stay at home, homeschooling, studying to be a Catholic, cupcake and cookie baking, soccer mom and wife of a wonderful husband who supports all that I love to do. I am blessed!!
